Meet Dr. George Lecakes

Dr. George Lecakes is the Director of Immersive Technology and Learning at Rowan University, where he leads the university-wide integration of Virtual Reality into the classroom through Dreamscape Learn. His work is helping redefine higher education by blending cinematic-quality VR content with active, hands-on learning.

He also serves as the Associate Director for Virtual Reality at MAVRC (Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality Center), where he develops immersive training systems across fields such as trauma response, sustainable infrastructure, and medical simulation.

As an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr. Lecakes teaches advanced courses in Virtual Reality Systems, Digital Image Processing, Mobile Development, and Generative Artificial Intelligence. He is deeply committed to mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students, guiding them through engineering clinic teams, research projects, and VR-enhanced learning initiatives.

Beyond the university, Dr. Lecakes shares his knowledge and passion through his YouTube channel, GLecakes Projects, where he documents real builds, tutorials, and creative experiments in Unity, Godot, Blender, and immersive tech.
